About Us:
The SIGCo Group, the world leader in its field, was created in 1996 to provide shipowners a solution to the new Certificate of Financial Responsibility (“COFR”) regulations resulting from the US Oil Pollution Act 1990. In addition SIGCo provides niche financial products and services which are not available from their traditional insurers.
The SIGCo Group has underwriting entities in both Bermuda and the Isle of Man, as well as an insurance intermediary in the Isle of Man, all of which are fully regulated in their respective jurisdictions.
What we do:
SIGCo provides the following products and related services:
- COFR Guaranty – SIGCo provides a COFR Guaranty to support a COFR issued by the National Pollution Funds Center (“NPFC”) in the US. As a consequence of providing a COFR Guaranty, SIGCo is liable for claims arising under OPA90 CERCLA that result from oil pollution incidents within the US EEZ.
- CG5585 application – SIGCo can also make a CG5585 application to the NPFC to obtain the COFR Certificate which is required to be supported by the Guaranty.
- International Carrier Bond (“ICB”) – SIGCo has arranged a facility to provide our clients an ICB, which is required by US Customs & Border Protection
- Cyber Hull Cover – SIGCo offers a defined perils policy designed to provide H&M cover in circumstances where, due to a Cyber related cause, the H&M policy does not respond.
