About Us:

Manx Wildlife Trust (‘MWT’) was founded in 1973 and is the Isle of Man’s leading nature conservation charity. Its members, staff and volunteers support MWT to protect Manx wildlife for the future.

Our vision is ‘The Isle of Man’s land and waters rich in wildlife, where nature matters to all’.

Our mission is ‘To protect and enhance our environment, create more spaces for wildlife, and inspire people to act for nature’.

What we do:

Our 3 strategic aims are to:

  • Drive the development of a Nature Recovery Network across the Isle of Man to create more places for wildlife.
  • Champion Nature Based Solutions to enable nature to improve the wider Isle of Man environment for all.
  • Connect people in the Isle of Man strongly to nature and inspiring them to act for wildlife.

The Marine environment is critically important to us across all 3 aims, and Dr Lara Howe (MWT Marine Officer) manages a portfolio of marine conservation programmes, working closely with the Isle of Man Government, NGOs and other stakeholders.
